I start this week with a VERY unusual ad. It’s real, I promise.

I try to do my part to help young entrepreneurs, and I was delighted to see the release of a new book, ‘Kidpreneurs’ which is an innovative way to help kids learn about the pros and cons of running a small business. You can grab it from Kidpreneurs.com and congrats to Adam and Matt Toren.

This weeks question is from someone who’s making sales using PPC, but they’re not sure how to take it to the next level. I suggest two easy tactics that will definitely increase the level of sales substantially. Look out for those tips!

As you no doubt realize, your reputation is a valuable asset. Online, do you know what others are saying about you? Find out, using Google! If you find things that you don’t want others to see, you need the nifty click that I recommend this week.

iHop restaurants do a good job at theming special menus around popular topic. I’ll give you a good example where they linked in with NFL, and show you how to use the same strategy in your business.

Let me know your opinion about the topics covered in the show this week – leave your comment below, it’s really easy to do.

Enjoy the show!

  1. I will really want my kids to start up early learning enterpreneurship because as on myself, I believe it is the easiest path to living a fulfilled life instead of enduring a job for the sake of money that will never make one financially free.

I have a question when is Grasshoppers going to be available to UK companies. It is really a shame that all of this seems to happen only in the US. Is there a similar service out there already in the UK?

  2. Andrew –

I think the link in the show notes is off. Kidpreneurs.com is a dummy site while Kidpreneurs.org seems to the site you are mentioning.

    Thanks for the resource !

  3. Hi Andrew,
Kidpreneurs has really excited me. My two boys 9 and 8 play on a newly formed mini basketball team. We are always trying to figure out how to get more players and also raise money for traveling and equipment. I really think that if the kids take on more responsibility in marketing the team, they will get more people talking about them and also teach them valuable lessons for their futures.
Please consider sending Kidpreneurs to the boys of the Numata Sirius Mini basketball team and we will update our success with a new homepage.

    Sincerely,
    Basketball Dad Willy

  4. Andrew – I’d like the Kidpreneurs book for my grandson who wants to be an entripreneur rather than a truck driver like his dad!

PS: IHOP stands for International House Of Pancakes, something that us old timers remember!

  5. Funny comments so far…although I’m not sure if the “are you our brother” is a joke or not – it’s the opposite time of year for a April Fool’s joke.

Anyway, great content today. I particularly enjoyed the bit about linking up with another popular theme. It has done wonders for our business, even when it’s just tying in with a seasonal theme.

Thanks for the excellent information, Andrew.

  6. Hey Andrew –

Your answer to Terry Courtney’s question about “how to increase sales beyond using PPC” missed an analysis point, I think. You recommended: “first, set a larger budget for PPC!” Now this might be good in some circumstances, but before you take that action, first analyze your PPC expenditures to see if you budget is actually running out before the month does. If your PPC budget is delivering all it can (runs out at month’s end or doesn’t run out) increasing it won’t help much.

I would love to win the book for my two sons (10 and 11 yrs old). They have put together a website about college football (everythingcollegefootball.weebly.com) and have worked really hard to provide an informative website. They are actually getting between 30 to 60 unique visitors a day. They want to incorporate affiliate marketing into the site (college logo wear etc) but they (myself included) don’t know how to go about doing that effectively.

I want to further instill in them the entrepreneurial spirit that is germinating right now and I hope the book would give them ways to progress this business idea.

    Thanks for your consideration.

  8. Thank you for the tips. I enjoyed the points about PPC. It’s a valued part of my business – I really should invest more in that sales avenue. I’m also excited about the idea of getting my kids involved in their business ventures of the future.

Interesting thoughts regarding Ihop-type marketing. Got me thinking.

    Love the t-shirt!

  10. Hey Andrew,

Terrific show with superior content that can be applied immediately- thank you.

BTW- Where’s the “ask Andrew” link?

I run RaisingSmallSouls.com with a 60K list, and it would be a great idea for me to be able to coach parents to help their small souls become entrepreneurs!

    Best wishes,

    Ellen

  11. Art,
I thought I had made the point in the show that expanding the PPC budget would be done once it’s confirmed that the campaign is profitable. Sorry if that wasn’t clear, but my point was that if you can trade $1 for $2, why would you limit yourself to doing that 3 times a day when you could do it 40 times a day!

    Ellen,
The ‘Ask Andrew’ link is the third link at the very top of the page on the horizontal navigation bar.

    Regards

    Andrew

  12. ok, got my answers via email. I am happy again.

  18. Help my son be an entrepreneur! He is enrolled in the Hawaii education system, ranked 47th in U.S. educational achievement, with the fewest number of school days in the U.S. and just mandated 17 Furlough Fridays because of budget cuts. With your help, he could start a successful business in Hawaii, reduce dependency on tourism, create local jobs, build wealth and help the state provide better education in the future!

  19. Hi Andrew,

I was delighted to learn about Kidpreneurs because it just so happens that I started a “Young Entrepreneurs Club” for my kids (all under the age of 14) this year in our homeschool. Their goal is to develop a product that they will sell to local bicycling enthusiasts. After brainstorming several possibilities, they decided upon making a high-energy snack that cyclists can carry with them on long rides. They are really enjoying themselves brainstorming, researching, experimenting, buying raw materials, making business plans, having meetings, etc. It is fascinating to watch them develop into real, little entrepreneurs! (It’s also enjoyable being their main taste tester).

I can’t wait to see how far they take this idea, and what it leads to in the future. They’re already earning valuable experience and habits that will take them far in life. I’m looking forward to reading Kidpreneurs with them, and, of course, having a signed copy would be a great reward for all the work they’ve put into their business so far!

Thanks for the show. I’ve learned so much from it.

  20. Andrew,

Thank you very much for the great review of the Kidpreneurs book. We love the show!

My brother and I wrote this book with the ultimate goal of empowering & equipping as many kids as possible with the tools & resources of basic Entrepreneurship.

I am happy to see all the comments above and would like to let everyone reading this that we would like to offer those of you that didn’t win the signed book an opportunity to order a book and Matthew and I will be sure to sign and dedicate (if you request) a book for you.

Once you order, just send us a quick note here on the contact form that you read this on HelpMyBusiness.com and we’ll be sure to send you a signed copy & let us know if you would like the book dedicated as well.

  23. Hi Andrew,

Just wanted to drop you a line to tell you how I’ve followed many of your suggestions and followed what you’ve been doing on your show. I bought your program on how to do videos and since then have done a score of videos and completely changed my website to a video-based site on alternative health care. I primarily use Emotional Freedom Technique and now I’ve incorporated it into “How to Live in the Present Moment” which is a very lively topic these days. I expect to get a lot more traffic than I used to with my new video site. Thanks for all the helpful ideas you’ve provided.

    Best regards,
