#77 – “53 Extraordinary Minds – Special Promotion with a FREE Resource for Entrepreneurs and Small Business Owners.”
October 14, 2009Hi,
I realize that you have come to expect a certain format from the show, and I sprung a curve ball on you with a promotional film for this episode. For that, I’m sorry.
However I am 100% supportive of the offer in this episode, so if you decide to watch it, please do so knowing that it is a promotion for a valuable (and FREE) service for entrepreneurs. If you decide to follow up on the offer, I get paid a small affiliate commission for recommending it to you, but of course, there is no obligation whatsoever.
Further information about the offer can be found at 53 Extraordinary Minds.
Regards,

So just a big sales pitch then to build a new mail list. Very disappointing.
October 15th, 2009 at 2:05 am
am lost. All week long i was looking forward to Andrew Lock business Advise and nifty click of the week.
please tell me this will never happen again!!!
am disappointed.
October 15th, 2009 at 2:26 am
nice and good
October 15th, 2009 at 3:50 am
It was really encouraging.. Feel great that i got a chance to watch that video.
October 15th, 2009 at 4:31 am
Very disappointing. Affiliate marketing is a turn off. We enjoy your marketing tips and knowledge.
This was at best…a transparent attempt to solicit crap.
October 15th, 2009 at 4:42 am
Sooo disappointing! Come on Andrew you can do better than that! Even if you have lots to do, I think it is better to post an episode every two weeks instead of something like this, that really loses you credibility.
October 15th, 2009 at 5:13 am
Big fan, but very disappointed. What a crock of propagranda. Any small business owner who is gullible enough to think there is some mystery team with the secret formula to making money hand over fist is probably going to fail in business anyway.
October 15th, 2009 at 5:34 am
Good job Andrew! It’s nice to see that other viewers can make negative comments too.
And if anybody else hasn’t figured it out yet, Andrew has been involved in affiliate marketing all along. Ever wonder why so many websites he recommends all start with “try”? It’s because Andrew redirects the website to the real website and a “cookie” is created so if you ever decide to buy the product then Andrew gets a commission. Andrew is always giving business advice, but like many others like him, they don’t really tell you the most important ways to make money. In some cases they tell you how they “used’ to make money. Ebay is a great example. Most Ebay sellers now are doing very poorly but Andrew is in the Ebay book selling business.
Hey Andrew, how about a show on affiliate marketing or the business of selling information?
October 15th, 2009 at 6:21 am
You must be Joking!?! Seriously Andrew all these great shows with good practical advise. And then this nonsense? So Sorry, No sale.
October 15th, 2009 at 6:34 am
Bob you are 100 % right. Of course this edition was not done by Andrew himself, and he did not explain something valuable in thi edition, so let me do it for him, and explain what he did.
First he did not do the promotional video himself, nor did he paid to let it do. The only thing he did was to request an affiliate account from Rich Schefren the well-known “guru of guru’s”, buy the domain name 53 minds for 8$ and use a redirect to his affiliate link. When someone who will follow the free training ends in buying the higher end coaching he will of course get a commission.
Since his movie allows embedding I used it to promote the same “Extraordinary minds” on my blog, if some enters the URL in there browser Andy will get the commisssion, if someone clicks on the link below the video on my site I will get paid. I used a free cloacking site for the redirect of my affiliate link on my blog and the copy and paste sales page to convince you to buy the free training (if you want to buy from me you can click on my name above) “the league of extraordinary minds ”

P.S.1: the
league of extraordinary minds
P.S..2 : If you want to promote yourself those kind of product you should try to become an affiliate yourself by typing affiliate + the “name of choosen product” in Google
October 15th, 2009 at 7:14 am
Andrew you know i love ya – i’m probably your biggest fan, but didn’t love the pitch. Very excited about gotbiz.tv though! I hope it’s going well
October 15th, 2009 at 7:15 am
Oh, Andrew… Poor form! I watch your show for entertainment and practical advice – this was neither!!!
I don’t want to profit “quickly, easily, and free…”, I actually want to WORK for a profit and provide a SERVICE with real value. Maybe I am one of the few, but I do not want “riches” – I simply want to help support my family and enjoy my life while not destroying the earth. For me, money does not equal happiness.
Being an entrepreneur is (can be) a freedom from constraint of corporate capitalism. I don’t want to be ANYTHING like ANY of the huge corporations you mentioned, and I’m not sure I want the advice of those who helped them be what they are…
I could go on and on… but generally –
Poor form!
October 15th, 2009 at 7:17 am
Wow Andrew. I feel used. Ten minutes of wasted time, not counting the entire week of waiting for your new show. I am hoping this was an experiment on “what not to do” when you develop a strong following.
October 15th, 2009 at 7:27 am
Wow, I didn’t think you would do something like this. I guess internet marketing is what I thought – to be taken cautiously.
Disappointed at the low level.
Don’t bother notifying me of follow-up comments.
Disappointed.
October 15th, 2009 at 7:29 am
Good job, Andrew! I can finally take off my rose-colored glasses and see you a little clearer now! The love affair is over, I can begin my relationship with you as one business owner to another, and not as a fan and follower! Thanks, I needed that smack in the face!
October 15th, 2009 at 7:51 am
count me among the disappointed.
October 15th, 2009 at 7:56 am
Is this a comedy??
October 15th, 2009 at 8:00 am
That was a classic!
Now, where is this week’s video??
October 15th, 2009 at 8:30 am
Very disappointing with many of the Affiliate marketing.i lost hope in the marketing but your marketing tips helped me to know something new.thank you…
October 15th, 2009 at 8:32 am
Well, I have to defend you a bit here, Andrew – and add my own caution.
You’re getting raked here because the video is SOOO disconnected with who you are on your show and is, well, incredibly ‘lame’. It’s soul-lessly corporate, generic(those models! and just will not connect well with this crowd – or frankly, almost all the internet marketing crowd that some of these folks are involved in. This may resonate with some crowds on the net, but not with the following you have built and not with people who are wearing jeans to head to their small business or home office. If I had ties and suits in my closet, they might have been whispering to me to just try and put them on and see what might happen to me.
Anyway, all that said – you do NOT deserve the raking I see above but it is understandable. I get the disappointment but…. Gawd, people. Roll with it. We all have mis-fires, mis-steps – this may be one of them for Andrew, it may not be. When you make your own set of mistakes(they are coming, rest assured), be ready to lick your wounds and pray you have someone in your customer pool to step for you. You WILL if have built your business on the right foundation. When one does a public show like this and put themselves out there, it can only *grow* and evolve when it’s allowed to take license, free will chances and…..sometimes come up short. It happens. It’s called ‘running a business’.
Andrew’s the real deal and he’s not going anywhere that you don’t really, truly want to be in your own life.
One More Thing: And to anyone who begrudges the affiliate workings of what is shown here – come on: wake up. It’s a business – I”m guessing Andrew has around $500,000 invested equipment for this and gotbiz.tv. We sell stuff folks. It’s not charity. We do business well, we sell stuff & services to people we offer value to and create wealth – so we *then* can go big and do some kick-ass charity. I am most comfortable assuming Andew picks his affiliate relationships carefully – but sometimes your partners let you down, too.
Game On, Andrew. Roll all this off, be philosophical and move forward. I’ll be checking it out, keeping an open mind, always more to learn – been hearing Rich Shefren talk about for months but, that said, whoever green-lighted this video for the internet marketing crowd needs to back to Proctor & Gamble. Shockingly clueless.
October 15th, 2009 at 8:54 am
I love dude… and I love HelpMyBusiness.com, I tell friends about it all the time –
But this was the worst.. Integrity Lost
I would rather you not posted anything, if that’s the best you could do this week… Seriously.
I would much rather you have told me you just didn’t have time to produce the show this week, or something.
Reminds me of Clinton…
“I did not have sex with …”
October 15th, 2009 at 8:55 am
Andrew,
Looks like this one hit a nerve.
Definetely, by the quality of players, it got my attention. Your recommendation , which I respect got me in.
I can see the skepticism on most of your audience due to past experience and similar pitch.
Actually, myself wonder, ” another shinning object..? ”
It’s hard to focus with all this shinning stuff all over. But my ADD need to be fed( more input, please)
Andrew, I wonder… what really convince you to get it?
The same pitch that we saw or some inside information?
Regardless, I’m with you on this one.
Thanks for your time and ALL your recommendations.
Juan
October 15th, 2009 at 8:56 am
Hi Sir,
This is my first time on this site. The marketing tips on this video is interesting. All above these the language used in this video is simple to understand.
October 15th, 2009 at 9:02 am
So I’m guessing you didn’t like it, then?
Listen folks. I’d like to explain something to you.
I have been unwell the last few weeks and I didn’t intend for this episode to be this way, but it allowed me to have a break from the usual production schedule.
From your comments, I realise now, it was a big mistake, so I’m sorry. You have come to expect a certain format from the show, and I sprung a curve ball on you.
Having said that, I’d also like to address the other side of the coin here. This was one long commercial in a year and a half of content! Come on, guys and girls, cut me some slack here! Ironically, some people have been quick to criticize this episode who never normally comment on the content I’ve been providing for the past 76 episodes, every week!
The other aspect to this is, I know that you haven’t even checked out the offer because it isn’t even live yet! To me, that doesn’t make sense. How can you judge something that you haven’t even seen yet?
I was personally involved with the 53 minds project with Jay Abraham and Rich Schefren, I’m proud of what it offers for FREE, and MANY open minded entrepreneurs will get to profit from it. Why not you?
The promotional movie you saw WAS created by myself and an editor from my team – it took us a week to create a few months ago. I didn’t intend to use it in an episode, but I’ve explained why that happened.
Again, my apologies to you if you felt dissapointed, however I would encourage you not to judge the program or dismiss it – at least check it out. It brings something different to the marketplace that I believe is extremely useful.
Oh, and the show will be back to normal next week.
Regards
Andrew
October 15th, 2009 at 9:14 am
Utterly disappointing, Andrew. Live what your preach: marketing is everything and everything is marketing. And this, my friend, is a marketing disaster.
October 15th, 2009 at 9:18 am
Yeah, not your best show… Hey, you can’t knock it out of the park every week. 76 – 1 is a pretty good average I’d say.
Stay well my friend.
October 15th, 2009 at 9:40 am
I just looked at that website. There’s no ‘free’ tips there at all. I have to agree with the others. What a disappointment! This video is pretty deceptive. Sorry I wasted my time.
October 15th, 2009 at 9:45 am
My problem with this, is it is ‘posed’ as being a FREE resource, but what threw me the second I got to the site was seeing the affiliate sign-up, and the sales commissions. Anyone will see right through this. It is made to sound like it’s a FREE offering, and it may be free to a point. However, the thing I find about every single one of these style of programs meant to ‘help’ you, is just to get you hooked at some level and then drop the ball. The term ‘residual’ in there makes it clear that people who get hooked will be paying to get more and more information.
Anything said in these types of systems have to be taken with a grain of salt, or even done the opposite. If it were ‘financially’ motivated by growing the industry and drive out of the recession like the video portrays, then yes, it could be trusted. But with a $ being hovered down the program will mean all the information they throw at you will be intended at some angle hook you in. Yes, the video has it right; It is self-serving of those people.
I am disappointed. I would have rather a short video saying you had to delay, or just a post. As it is, you posting this has, to a lot of people, tarnished your reputation. Unfortunately, this may suck in some poor saps.
Oh: BTW, how are you going to know if you’re feeling better next week to be ‘back to normal’? Sorry, this feels planned.
October 15th, 2009 at 9:47 am
Didn’t see the video yet, was going to watch it later this evening but since I got the email apologising and reading all these comments I kinda want to see what it was like now!
October 15th, 2009 at 9:49 am
I’m curious who the intended audience is for that video. Are there really that many people so naive who will believe there is a secret team of experts telling some corporations how to be rich with some super secret information? I’m serious – I know there are gullible people out there, but I thought the majority of consumers were a little smarter than that at this point in the 21st century.
October 15th, 2009 at 9:53 am
Yes, the video was a surprise but I don’t think it deserves the backlash that it’s receiving. Viewers are getting a free show every week and obviously Andrew has to make money somewhere. He’s not in the charity business and neither are we, so we should just let this slide and wait for next week.
October 15th, 2009 at 10:01 am
I have been a faithful fan for — oh, about 3 months now — but, I have also watched every other episode in the archives and I must admit, I too was disappointed by this one, HOWEVER, one thing I think we should all keep in mind is that we ALL make mistakes (and if you haven’t, no worries, you will — everyone does)…
But, it’s those very mistakes that helps us all to learn, and more importantly, GROW!
Some of you have mentioned you will not be following Andrew anymore, and you are rightfully entitled to your own opinion, however, think of it this way…
If you had an employee, who you valued VERY much, and who worked his tail off for 76 weeks to earn your respect, and he made a mistake (after 76 weeks of nothing but excellence), would you simply fire him on the spot for his one mistake?
I sure as hell wouldn’t and I don’t think you would either.
Come on guys, the guy made a mistake — who cares, we are ALL entitled to mistakes every now again…
Andrew, I was thrilled to see your response and although I am not big on the “oh, I was sick” excuse (not saying it was an excuse), I am glad you owned up, realized it was a mistake (and I don’t even see it as a mistake. I see it as more of a lapse in judgment — more on that in a moment), and you have apologized — and for that, I COMMEND you Andrew, my hat goes off to you sir.
As I said above, I saw it more as a lapse of judgment and what I mean by that is that your show does not appeal to the more corporate muck-mucks which appears to be who the video was geared towards.
I honestly think if the video had more of a “quirky feel and tone” approach, I think we all would have enjoyed it a bit more — and you would have had a better result.
But, hey, that is just MY opinion (and we all know where opinions belong, right, LOL)…
Andrew, you put a lot of time and effort into the production of that product and even though it wasn’t a great success here, THANK YOU for the time and effort you put into ALL your products, yes, including this one…
** stepping off my soap box now **
October 15th, 2009 at 10:06 am
I didn’t get to see it but I understand that this must have been something your audience wasn’t expecting. An important marketing lesson you’ve learned here today. Think about it.
And people please don’t be too hard on the Andrew. There’s 75 awesome episodes you can go back and watch one this week. Do it.
October 15th, 2009 at 10:06 am
Andrew,
I am so confused it is not even funny. You passed on a some great information, a strong opportunity and had OUR best interest in mind.
Please do NOT let the nay sayers and negative people here discourage you at all. In fact, I have a sneaky suspicion that they are all the ‘No Action Takers’ that just keep getting information and just want, want, want.
All you did was pass on something you thought was good enough for us to watch. My thought is YOU ARE OBLIGATED to pass on great information….and yes, even if that means I have to PAY MONEY!
Thank you for all you have done…including the video you had up today!
My biggest worry is, will you now NOT pass on great offers or opportunities when you come across them?
Ted
October 15th, 2009 at 10:10 am
To Joey J, # 32 above,
I have a question for you:
Who are you and what have you done in the internet marketing world, to tell Andrew that what he did was a mistake?
The same goes to all of you negative people acting like Andrew committed a crime or something.
For Pete’s sake, could you all please share with us what contribution you are making to the internet marketing community that is so ethical and moral and helpful…and that must be free as well?
Ted
October 15th, 2009 at 10:10 am
Ok, Andrew, I’ve just gone and watched the video online (after you took it off here) to see what all the fuss was about and I have to say, I do enjoy your shows every week and I don’t really go along with all the comments being made here but my thoughts are not positive…
The whole thing smacks of a Scientology type video using slick(ish) graphics and a mototone voice which gets my alarm bells rining telling me this is trying to almost hypnotise me into something and the fact that you are endorsing this and involved with it’s creation (and the course which is promising a super hidden league of people to help etc) I think really undermines your reputation and really makes it seem like you’ve gone on a get rich scheme kick and not thought about the marketing (your main thing, no?)
I think you don’t really deserve the comments of some people here implying you’re conning people or tricking them out of their money and I know that you are a consultant for this type of industry but this video is not your best work and to be honest I wouldn’t think it will reflect well on you at all.
Are the other 52 minds producing things like this? Are there really a team of these 53 people working together or is it spin?
I’m watching again and I really have to say it’s leaving a very VERY bad taste in the mouth. Feels like old school pyramid/scam marketing or long one page sales page type get rich schemes just using new flashy video as the new medium.
Business success secrets that others have paid millions for… top companies made all these profits by using just what we are offering… I’m sure you’re eager to learn… Follow this instruction carefully, ground breaking project .. register…
your name isn’t on the extraordinary minds site that 53minds redirects to either, feels like more affiliation…
Really not sitting right with me… Still like your other stuff but you are kinda tarnished because of this Andrew, sorry
October 15th, 2009 at 10:13 am
Didn’t get to see the video, but big whoop. One little mistake out of 70+ USEFUL (and free) videos doesn’t phase me. Keep doing your thing Andrew.
p.s. When will there be new episodes on GotBiz.tv ?? I’ve been refreshing everyday!
October 15th, 2009 at 10:13 am
Amen, Joey and much of what you say I hope I echoed above, as well. (although, I did not realize that Andrew help create this video….sigh).
Joey, your comment about point of view in all this – working 76 weeks, delivering the good and then one mistake, POW!! – is so dead-on. Very poignant and relevant here.
We all must have the freedom in our businesses to fail forward – we hear that all the time in this world but it’s SO true. If we can’t push thru with passion inside our various projects and be unafraid to screw up every now and then….well, there’s no question: that business will just *not* grow and certainly never innovate or impact their market place meaningfully. Fact. Just the way it is.
This launch happens in a few hours and I have the URL open, waiting to sign up – from Andrew’s link, too! ;-P (seriously, what IS the issue w/ the affiliate linking?! Gawd, people.) A few of the people on the list of names have saved my ass in my business with their insights and tips on how to run my business and manage my life.
They have my attention, trust and, occasionally, if needed forgiveness or just a ‘look away’ without judgement. (and I hope for the same in return)
The Learning Never Stops – and when it does, you’re toast.
October 15th, 2009 at 10:24 am
Andrew, You’ve given us tons of great content and shows for free…there is nothing wrong with you asking us one time to watch a promotion video for something you believe in. Rich Schefren and Jay Abraham are top shelf marketers, as are you. I have already signed up to become an affiliate for Extraordinary Minds and thank you for this opportunity. I suggest everyone else do the same and reap the benefits from not only learning from the best in the industry but also for all the free training as well. Hope you’re feeling better.
October 15th, 2009 at 10:26 am
Hi Andrew,
This “episode” was a clearly big departure from the norm…but I will certainly cut you some slack. You provide us with a TON of useful content each week…and I’m sorry if this offends some people…but you do deserve to make money from your business. This is especially true if you fully believe the product you are promoting has value for your viewers…which you clearly do.
In my opinion, you earned your “free pass” to market to me a long time ago…probably right after I watched the first show and picked-up a great piece of advice that helped my business. In exchange for helping me, I’ll gladly watch your 10 minute commercial and decide if it’s right for me. If it is and you earn a commission from the sale, then its a win-win for both of us…and a very small price to pay for your weekly entertainment and helpful advice.
Still a fan and still looking forward to the next episode…
~ Pete
October 15th, 2009 at 10:28 am
Andrew,
I was totally shocked and dismayed when I saw this episode… I sure am glad that you are not going the way of the other “gurus”. It is not what we like about you.
When I looked at the “53″ names… some are great at what they do… the others are hacks that pass off the pablum of the past. Most are “motivators” not “implementors” like a small business would want. The technique used is what we in the know call a “data dump”. Bury the person in information so deep that they can’t complain that something isn’t there because they missed page 1127 of #51′s crap.
Again, we like you because we didn’t think you were of this ilk. Please don’t go this way… it doesn’t become you.
October 15th, 2009 at 10:42 am
I appreciate all the good shows you’ve produced Andrew and I’ll continue to watch. One dud doesn’t not define you.
I don’t know who you intend to market that video to, but I do hope they are very gullible. Perhaps it was supposed to be tongue-in-cheek funny because I had a hard time thinking anyone would believe that hype.
October 15th, 2009 at 10:51 am
Not to change the subject Andrew, but shouldn’t this episode be # 77?
October 15th, 2009 at 11:13 am
Too bad I missed it but if it was as bad as all that why not just LAUGH at the stupidity of anyone thinking you’re really that stupid. Now you all got everyone wondering, hmm.
I think that’s about right – those who never comment are sure out in full force today! Don’t say anything unless you have something nasty to say, is that the new cool way to be?
If you want to take a break, Andrew, just put on the Live Nifty Clicks, those cool Web Tools but first make sure you’re getting all the affiliate commission there is because if you don’t someone else will.
Everything you buy from the panties you got all bunched up in knots today to the weave on your head is sold by some sort of commission payment system. Whether it’s in your face or hidden so they can pretend the “service” or “Admin” or “packing” or “purple fee” or whatever they call it is not what it is — affiliate commission based on Sales.

IMPORTANT:
I think everyone needs to cut Andrew some slack!
He provides unbelievable useful information every week for FREE! He doesn’t get paid for giving you those tips – he has to rely on advertisers, affiliate links, etc to make money.
If he didn’t make any money how would he be able to continue bringing you FREE content every week.
Do you do your job for FREE?
October 15th, 2009 at 12:41 pm
Completely agree with Ted Butler, comment number 34 above. This was absolutely NOT a mistake. I’ve been taking advantage of Andrew’s content and teaching for a couple of years now, and as we know, it’s all fantastic stuff.
If he thinks something is a quality product that has the potential to help his viewers take positive action, then he has all the right in the world to pass it on to us. And should he earn a commission if we choose to take advantage of the offer? Most definitely.
I would wager that Andrew is not discouraged by the response of many of the “loyal” viewers who have posted comments here – surprised is probably a better word.
Brian
October 15th, 2009 at 1:19 pm
The show seems to be quickly evolving into an infomercial, which is too bad. I thought you had something good there.
October 15th, 2009 at 1:37 pm
To Ted Butler, #35 above:
YOU SAID:
>> I have a question for you:
>>
>> Who are you and what have you done in
>> the internet marketing world, to tell
>> Andrew that what he did was a mistake?
Fair enough, however, now I have a question for you? Did you read my entire post? If so, which I am not saying you did not, but if you did, then you should have realized that I even stated that I personally did not see it as a mistake…
If anything, what it turned out to be was a lapse in judgment and what I mean by that is that Andrew usually posts what his visitors want, but this time around, that’s not what happened (based on the comments that were slewing in)…
And by that I mean; Andrew thought his viewers would see the value in the video (as I most certainly did), but apparently, a good number of them didn’t.
YOU ALSO SAID:
>> The same goes to all of you negative
>> people acting like Andrew committed a
>> crime or something.
Just because someone posts a negative message, or their dislike for a post, it does not make that person a “negative person”. Are we not all entitled to our own opinions? Even if it means that it’s different than our own?
Did you like the video? Yes? GREAT! So did I. But, for those who didn’t, great for them as well, because again, they are entitled to express themselves as well, true?
October 15th, 2009 at 1:49 pm
Andrew, one tip I’ve decided to take from both you and Gary Vaynerchuk is NOT to let other people run my show. You don’t like what I put on the show this week? … Tough!! I’m really not into sales pitches but can’t people just say “pass” and move on. When people whinge the way they do about being “sold to” my big question is, are they sales people so do they ever sell anything, are they making any money and will they ever buy from you.
I know we do a show for people but I will NEVER let people run my show … period! And that from the Christian Entrepreneur.
October 15th, 2009 at 1:50 pm
Well that was quite the attack.Pretty Harsh.
Sorry to see you go through this.
Looking forward to next weeks show and more gotbiz.tv updates
October 15th, 2009 at 2:05 pm
Anybody notice how many (not all, but majority) of the haters don’t even have (or link to) a website?
October 15th, 2009 at 2:09 pm
Didn’t see it but from the ‘disappointed’ comments, it must have been a doozy!
See you next week Andrew..and don’t sweat it, we all have a brain fart once in a while:)
October 15th, 2009 at 2:52 pm
Give Andrew a break he gives his advice free every week and is great at what he does, leave the guy alone it’s his business and can do as he please I hate complainers.
October 15th, 2009 at 3:37 pm
Andrew, I enjoy your show every week, and admire your tenacity and your willingness to put in what has obviously been a great deal of hard work and effective thought in bringing your business forward. I operate a successful non-internet business and have been trying my best to join the 21st century and find ways to incorporate internet marketing into my business, to take it beyond ordinary success. (It has not been an easy road.) Your weekly tips have helped clear the fog of internet issues for me, and I am grateful to you for that. I always stick with a business that has given me great value, even if I perceive that that business has made what appears to be a mis-step, and I believe that anyone else who runs a successful business will, also. I send you my support and best wishes, and look forward to your next show.

Wow, how quickly people turn! I will be honest in that I have not seen the episode since it was removed, but aside from him selling babies on the internet for a profit or something, I highly doubt this video really deserves this much outrage.
Listen, Andrew is allowed to make mistakes like everyone else. Did he kill your puppy or something? I understand that this episode may have been a disappointment and we should voice that to him, but the lashing he is receiving is really a bit much. He gives FREE high-quality content year round and took one misstep. Suddenly, everyone’s world is shattered. If anything just chalk it up to another lesson learned from Andrew which is to ALWAYS remember what the audience wants and to be consistent. Let’s not forget all the valuable info he has provided and will continue to provide. You can always just hit the stop button if you don’t like it. Cut the guy some slack! And please do not fault the guy for having affiliates, he is an INTERNET MARKETER, he does not run a charity. The guy works hard, let him make a good living!

Andrew,
My friend, I think you can now see why so many of us are sick of this market.
The Jackals have come out to attack you after so much massive free quality content.
Freebie seekers make me sick, and personally I owe you far more than some affiliate
commission for the education, insight, and inspiration you have given all of us over the last year plus!
To all you whiney people commenting above, get a life! Tune out and shut up, or Tune in and make some money!
How about you try to earn a living giving your customers free quality content for a year, then throw the first stone!
If you do not appreciate commerce then get out of the commerce game! Andrew teaches us to make money and
you consider it a mortal sin when he attempts to bring value for free and maybe, just maybe make a little himself!
Hypocrites….
Andrew you are and always have been a class act, unlike most of the commenter’s above!
I owe you big!

Hi Andrew,
My heart goes out to you! Bravo however for listening to your audience and allowing us free access to share our opinions.
You must have been mortified when you realized the impact the video had on people.
How many of us have every made mistakes that we wish we could take back – an opportunity to learn and an opportunity to learn what not to do.
Folks, come on, Andrew has given us SO much knowledge, entertainment, fun, an alternative to television and a lot of encouragement and support along the way.
Andrew, having to wait a whole week more for your next episode is going to be agony! I was counting the days till this Wednesday.
I’m going to use the opportunity to go back and watch the rest of the previous episodes. I’m up to about episode 20 and make it a point to watch a few more each week so I can “catch up”!
I learn SO much by watching your show Andrew, thank you for all you do.
Here’s some chicken soup and hot tea to help you feel better. Get well soon! We are sending love and best wishes your way!

Andrew Locke is a pioneer and he inspired me to create my own web tv show for my small business.
I didn’t see this episode before it was taking down, but I don’t really think it matters.
Sadly, we live in a “what have you done for me lately” society that can forget about all the good someone has done for them with even the slightest deviation from the norm. It is what it is.
But, before you get on your high horse, ask yourself these questions:
1.) are you creative enough to come up with your own web TV show?
2.) are you disciplined enough to put out 10-minutes of video content on a weekly basis for well over a year? do you have any clue what is takes to fulfill and maintain this from a resources standpoint?
3.) does your business honestly suck more after watching this episode?
4.) is your life that meaningless that you need to step on someone who has helped you at some point simply because he didn’t deliver what you expected one time?
5.) do you have the balls to still keep up all of the posts of negatives comments from negative people on your own blog that could potentially mar the reputation of your show to a visiting prospect?
I know that at least for myself, the answer to question#5 is NO.
So I guess Andrew has bigger balls than all of us
Keep up the great work Andrew!

We Love you Andrew, That said, if it smells fishy you are going to hear it. Did you think your minions were morons? of course you did not. see you next week.

Andrew, the video was GREAT the content was GREAT and the message right on the money! I think it is a pitty that so many people take it negatively. Love your work, you’re an outstanding marketer
October 15th, 2009 at 4:08 pm
I did not get to see the episod (this time), but hey… shit happens. And a (potential) shit rate below 2 per cent. I wish I could do that. Anyway: I am looking forward to the next episode.

Andrew,
I was so happy to read the latest email from you at NOON today – I almost broke out the Cristal to celebrate because I thought you decided to go on with the show!
But no, it’s the autoresponder still going forward as planned. Now we can watch the show too. I have a QUESTION that I can’t figure out the answer to!
WHY are decisions like this (taking the show down, apoligizing, etc..), made just because “someone” who is really NOBODY doesn’t happen to like it?
WHY is #1 and #2 taken as more important and therefore worthy of action but #3 and #4 are ignored as if they don’t even matter??
What people like and don’t like and what ANYONE thinks about what YOU DO is NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS. That applies to everyone who lives and breathes the same air.
Freedom is great and so is money – it buys more choices. Whoever pays the piper gets to pick the song…whether it’s a song he likes, you like or nobody likes is up to HIM. In this case, Andrew has every right to show us the work he did with his friends who by the way, happen to be what you call “successful” people. Hmm, must be something to learn from that.
Do NOT apologize for what you like, proudly stand up tall and be who you already are. That’s what I do and how I live — okay so I don’t have a lot of friends but so what, they always want something anyway. You can’t help stupid no matter how hard you try. Just let them be who they are, but at the same time, don’t change yourself either.
Here’s the email:
Hi Leah,
There’s a new, zero cost resource to help you that’s truly ground breaking.
If you saw the new episode of my show that I released today, you’re already up to speed. If not, check out the episode now:
http://www.helpmybusiness.com
Or, to cut right to the chase, you can get access the program now, at
http://www.53minds.com
Regards
Andrew
P.S. I was thrilled to be a consultant for Jay Abraham and Rich Schefren on this innovative project to help entpreneurs like yourself, so I encouage you to see for youself what they’re offering you. You’ll be surprised… http://www.53minds.com (and this week’s episode of my ‘Help…my business…’ show explains why.
In closing, this has been very successful “show”, don’t you thnk? Not many blogs get 10% of the response here and it’s not even bad publicity! It’s the BEST KIND YOU CAN GET and money usually can’t even buy it. It comes for free!
Congratulations to the laughing all the way to the big round table Andrew is sitting at right now! Some of you up there caught on right away. They must know the difference between outside perception and inside reality. Don’t underestimate your teacher, Andrew i’s no junior mint.
He’s more like a huge Tootsie Roll that keeps you guessing because he’s so nice but it’s really politically correct. He knows what he does and exactly what he’s doing! Mistake my ass!! Okay whatever floats your boat!! The truth floats mine and that won’t ever sink!! Let’s stick with that, shall we?
This whole thing would not be here if comments #1 and #2 never showed up to stay but they did. By cO-Inky-diNK, is dat wat ya’ Dink??
WHO am I? thriftgirl62 on Twitter and yes, that’s my Car in my driveway too!!

Andrew,
I saw this video last night either via Facebook or You Tube. I tried to leave a comment but I wasn’t a Viddler member and it wouldn’t let me. I thought the video was creative and very professional. I wouldn’t mind that quality of video advertising my business.
I’ve seen this behaviour before. It reminds me of when my son would play a song others didn’t like on his You Tube site. There’s them that does and them that COMPLAINS.
It amazes me that you can provide FREE content for more than a year and this is your thanks.
To the WHINERS & MOANERS I say; “Andrew provides a free service and offers a business proposition that you may or may not choose to participate in. He constantly over delivers and when he runs an Affiliate MARKETING Ad, which some people and their business may derive some benefit from, your comments indicate he has let YOU down.
If you value his show as much as you claim to, perhaps Andrew should make it a Recurring Revenue model site, where he charges weekly for it.
Thanks Andrew for what you offer and here’s to your continued success.
P.S. Let the whiners eat cake.
October 15th, 2009 at 7:09 pm
Yippeee!! The Show does go on!!
Bob #8 if you want the best of the best on selling information, I have it posted on my Twitter page NO, its NOT an affiliate link either. I always lose those things. It’s just the best I’ve ever found, that’s all.
October 15th, 2009 at 7:37 pm
I’m delighted Andrew created such a stir! We all need to be ‘shaken’ just a bit once in awhile. It gives us ‘contrast’ to what we really love – Andrew’s wit and wisdom.
Kudos, Andrew; for a sound ‘shakin’!

So glad to see you’ve put the video back Andrew.
Let them know who’s running this show!!
Nuff Respect!
October 16th, 2009 at 12:12 am
@Andrew: I too am thrilled that you put it back online.
@Trish:
In all reality, Andrew does NOT run the show. Theoretically, WE do. I mean, without pleased visitors, there would be no need for a site as there would be no visitors.
Please do NOT take this as a thrash against you Trish, I completely agree with you and am thrilled that Andrew finally put the video back online, what I am saying however, is that, yes, even tho this site IS Andrews, he still does have somewhat of an obligation to his followers if he wishes for them to remain followers.
I hope you can understand what I am trying to say and that I truly am not trying to bash you or your post.
Like I said, I am thrilled as well that Andrew has decided to re-post the video…
October 16th, 2009 at 12:46 am
JOEY, you are absolutely correct. It’s just like a family where the wife and kids run the show under the supervision of the husband and father. As long as He leads them where they want to go, everyone is happy. People are so tired of bad Leaders, they won’t follow blindly like soldiers anymore. When the Leader takes another path, he better know where and why he’s going that way. And then firmly back it up. I know all that but what I can’t figure out is this:
WHY are decisions made just because “someone” who is really NOBODY doesn’t happen to like it?
WHY is #1 and #2 taken as more important and therefore worthy of action but #3 and #4 are ignored as if they don’t even matter??
Whichever camp screams the loudest gets what they want?? LOL
thriftgirl62 going back to Twitter now!
October 16th, 2009 at 12:48 am
Joey,
I hear you, but this is exactly what I’m saying … I disagree! You will lose some and you will win some but if you give people the option of running your show, YOU become their puppet and give them what they want to hear, rather than what they NEED to hear.
A good leader has to test the ground but when it comes down to it, he should go in the direction that will help his people, even it it hurts.
Other people can only run the show if I give them the option … If I appease people who complain. Naturally, Andrew must have felt the complaints were not justified enough and hene the reason he put the show back up.
Integrity is not just about what you say, it’s about what you do … not being on the fence and going with your conviction!
I do appreciate your response though Joey …
October 16th, 2009 at 1:19 am
@Trish: Touche Trish, points well taken.
October 16th, 2009 at 6:35 am
I have sorf of mixed emotions. I like what andrew has done and his effort for bringing a good show with great marketing tips…But that video is one of those “best of the worst”. It was made in that kind of format that you think it´s important and you will learn something important and it ends trying to sell you “the solution”. Come on Andrew, you really underestimate the people that is watching your show. If we have been following you is because you come out with an intelligent show and we, the viewers are able to take some of the experiences and knowledge and implant it into our own business. It is disapointing that you promise us a show like the 75 before, and with no warning whatsoever, what we get is that video. If you see it again, you will notice it is very different from you, because after all, you have taught us that giving away something of value to the costumer is a way to receive more in return, and this video… does not deliver anything at all.
October 16th, 2009 at 2:28 pm
Thank you all for your comments. I’ve read and considered them all, carefully.
Clearly, it was a mistake to present the offer in the way that I did. Obviously it was not my intention to insult you – quite the contrary, I value you as a viewer of the show. I strive to provide value to you, and the http://www.53Minds.com program has tremendous value. Yes, I get paid as an affiliate, but that’s incidental and honestly should be irrelevant to you. If YOU share something good with someone, you don’t deserve to be paid but it’s nice when you are, right?
So please don’t shoot the messenger. Consider the message in the spirit it was shared with you, and also consider what I’ve given you over the past 77 episodes, too
Regards
Andrew
October 16th, 2009 at 5:32 pm
There must be some major confusion here because the consensus seems to be “this video …. does not deliver anything at all.”
Then what do you call the reason Andrew decided to put this Video on his show? It was NOT for any affiliate commission, FREE earns Zero Dollars.
So, what do you call it? Here’s the answer:
“It is a VERY good offer – 6 weeks of free coaching, with nothing required other than an email opt-in.”
Does anyone know the value of coaching? Especially one-on-one? Do you know how much you pay for that? Good coaches run into the thousands per day — some per hour if you want to get jiggy with it!!
October 16th, 2009 at 7:56 pm
Oooops…..
That about sums this “episode” up.
Andrew is a great entrepreneur. And all entrepreneurs learn from their mistakes. And if you don’t make mistakes you will never be a great entrepreneur.
One “Infomercial” out of 76 episodes of great content is not going to keep me from watching.
Andrew…Hope you feel better and get back on track.
Best Regards
Bob

Andrew, This is my first visit to your site. And I’ve been pretty impressed with the content of your site until this video. I’ve felt like I can trust this guy. However, this video is no different than the historical pitches from many MLM (Amway, etc) or any current online marketers. Even Tony Robbins and my video teacher is using the limited number of people approach. While I respect you saying upfront that this is an advertisement and you receive money, the problem with both your video and the related website is that everyone one of us who took valuable time to watch it is wondering what is the CATCH? So to save us time and maintain our trust, tell us that SECRET from the get go.
NO BILLIONAIRES EVER GIVE AWAY HELP TO THE LITTLE GUY FOR FREE!!! Assuming they’ve managed their finances well, these people aren’t worrying about loosing businesses and homes in January 2010. But some small biz people are watching data and predicting retained client non-renewals and facing the new year writing on the wall. Such folks are good people, have good services, but struggle with marketing, so they are humbly and sincerely looking for answers. Is this video and these 53 really going to provide such incredible insight to help prevent REAL loss?
October 23rd, 2009 at 1:37 pm
#75, you didn’t leave your name unfortunately, not sure why.
Anyway, you raise a valid point which the website http://www.53minds.com answers upfront.
The ‘catch’ is that you get 6 weeks of content for free, no strings attached. If you like it, then there’s a paid option beyond that initial period.
Regards
Andrew

Wow I’ve watched several of your videos then this one. I must say I too am very disappointed and quite frankly shocked but not so much at Andrew as at the other people commenting here.
I wonder how many tips and resources, those who LOUDLY complained, have actually put to use?
They display perfectly, the difference between the “producer” and “user” mentality or “buyer” and “seller”, it’s not very hard to guess which eyes they used to watch the video.
I think as one commenter said, they are just watching “for entertainment”. Surely they noticed at some point that you ARE a marketer?
Until the stop looking at everything with “consumers” eyes and start using “publishers” or marketing eyes then all they are doing is Entertaining themselves.
Further I would say that Jay Abraham and Rich Schefren consistently produce quality information products. In regards to the video being hypey, the method of delivery should mirror the fears and wants of the market you’re trying to reach so maybe a little more disclosure beforehand may have sweetened their taste for this video.
That’s just my take though.
December 7th, 2009 at 3:48 am
I didn’t comment on what I discovered 2 months ago but since the sleeping dogs are awake, here it is.
Andrew has “spoiled” his followers big time. Did anyone receive 5-8 emails from every big and small marketer (okay, not everyone) but I lost count.
One guy was split testing 2 similar landing pages and the rest had the same basic landing page with the big giant red words at the top.
I didn’t see any of those carbon-copy landing pages used by Andrew. He was the only one with the elaborate movie that explained the FREE program.
I couldn’t help wondering what the reaction would have been if the only thing everyone saw before the opt-in was that landing page – no movie, nothing. Just opt-in, thank-you and good-bye.
This normal assumption of great wealth among marketers is not always true: “these people aren’t worrying about loosing businesses and homes in January 2010.” They are taught to portray a super successful image – perception is never the same as reality. Nothing is ever what it seems but everything is always what
it is.
The same percentages and odds of going broke apply to everyone – even those who have Rolls Royces in their garages and yachts in custom built boat docks. The difference is how they deal with it – the rich know how to climb back up and believe it or not, they secretly enjoy the challenge and don’t mind the loss nearly as much!
Any Rich people out there? Do correct me if I’m wrong! Don’t be shy either…
