Episode #12 – eBay Special – Discover the 7 Crazy Changes Going on at eBay & Learn What to Do Now
July 9, 2008Episode #12 – I offered to do a special video for you about all the changes happening on eBay and hundreds of you responded so here it is. I’ve never seen so many changes in such a short space of time, and it’s difficult for anyone to keep up with them, so I’ve tried to simplify it as much as possible. I talk about the feedback changes, the fee increases, the new Powerseller level, and a lot more. But it’s not all doom and gloom either! Although I think most of the changes are badly thought out and implemented, my H3 system for attracting NEW buyers for your business from eBay is working better than ever because the number of sellers has dramatically reduced, which means less competition.
I invite you to join me on a special Webinar where I’ll show the inner workings of the H3 system, on the evening of Thursday 10th July. Click here to register.

Hey Andrew,
It does look like the video player (Viddler) is showing a different proportion then what your video is.
Great content anyway!

I guess I won’t mention that you look a bit squashed in the video, Andrew. :p
Thanks for the wonderfully concise look at the recent eBay changes.

Who cares how he looks. I can’t sell a damn thing or get paid on ebay with these new changes.

Nice video. I have the solution to #2 there.

Hello Andrew,
Many thanks for another great video. Remember what I’ve been saying from your first episode about the aspect ratio being wrong?
Thanks for highlighting all the eBay changes. Oh, and talking about Skype.
I was gonna register for your webinar, as $1 is nothing – but then the fine print said that after that, one is bound to some subscription service for $97/month…so I gave up. I just wanted the webinar.
Many thanks!
Lisa

There is no obligation whatsoever with the subscription. It’s a 30 day trial and you can cancel it any time during those 30 days without being charged anything – simply by sending one email saying ‘please cancel’. And who knows, you might actually get enormous value from the membership. Jim’s content is first class, that’s why I chose to team up with him.
I hope that helps to reassure you.
Re the aspect ratio that several people have mentioned, it seems different browsers and screen settings are displaying the videos differently. On my computers here in the office it’s showing just fine, so we’re looking into how everyone can get to see it the same. But honestly, I shouldn’t have to say this, but the aspect ratio is a trivial matter, it’s the content that matters.

Thank you for such a brilliant outline of the changes at ebay, why they are harmful to so many people.

Andrew,
Firstly thank you so much for the best video clip I have seen on the internet this year. This was the best summary, great presentation, and in many ways very funny and entertaining. I urge you to gather more videos like. This video is why i am subscribing to your newsletter and bookmarking your website….
While you try to remain neutral on ebay your information is so valid and as a buyer first and a seller on e bay i will personally make sure that i make it easier on all of my items i buy from now on and ensure that i rank them as positive and very pregnant i mean very accurate lol for all their feedback necessary….
I work for an internet marketing company and it was only recently after talking to a few powersellers that i realized that ebay live was a disaster and my curiosity peaked when my internet marketing friends asked me to take a look at your site to learn more about the changes
Needless to say i am glad you did put up this video, i thought it was lovely and i even wasnt insulted with jeff walker style salting campaign…
From one internet marketer to another
I have much respect for your work!
Your video was 5 star and will urge everyone i know to watch it and do my part….

After hearing you on Jim’s webinar, I just HAD to find your site…LOVE the name you chose
You did an awesome job on the webinar and your system sounds “Fantastic” as automation is exactly what MOST people need and you thought it all through.
I’m shocked I’ve never ran across your name. I’m pretty sure that 1 tip you gave on the webinar will produce 10’s of thousands for me and I’m anxious to put it into action and let you know.
I’m a die hard Internet Entrepreneur (since 1993) with many, many sites and I like to stay way under the radar so I can continue in my niches and rake it in.
Your a jewel Andrew and quite funny, too! I’m surprised you don’t have a massive following here. I’ll probably try to find a clip that I can use on my blog so I can trackback to you. I’ll also be using the Sharethis…to get you additional exposure.
Thanks for WHO you are!

Thanks Andrew for your take on this.
There has been some recent changes with eBay feedback by removing neutral feedback from sellers feedback score. Feedback will be recalculated based on this new update.
It seems that eBay is listening to sellers and one can only stand still to see what else may come down the pipe.
Their linking policy has also been challenged and eBay is considering revamping those rollouts of changes. Come August we shall see they are also giving sellers a 4 week window to comply with the changes. Something that I have rarely seen before from them.
I am not sure based on the linking policy changes what they have reconsidered changing but I am sure we will find out soon.
They are also changing the listing frame by removing the left hand navigation bar that houses the catergories for an eBay store. This is something that is causing a new stir with sellers for SEO purposes on the eBay discussion boards and eBay groups.
With so much going on I agree that eBay is still the most visitied site and this is definitely something that can be used for ones e-tail biz to help generate traffic.
So I suppose we will stay tuned, huh?
Thanks

Hi Andrew,
I’ve really enjoyed your presentation.
Thanks for the update on the many changes going on at Ebay. I was one of those who use to sell ebooks and I have given up on that.
David.

Hi Andrew
I found your video via a link from Randy Smith and I’m so glad I checked it out, it’s brilliant
I have already commented on some of these changes on my blog and I will be linking to your video as soon as I can get around to it.
I will also be checking out the rest of your site when I find the time (not enough hours in the day!)
And who cares if you look a bit squished? You can do the presentation from under your desk for all I care, as long as the quality is the same
Keep up the good work.
Lynn
