Episode #9 - In this episode, I share some fascinating marketing lessons from Cirque Du Soleil, a resource for stunning quality one-click web graphics, unconventional ideas for boring businesses, and from our recent trip to Italy - how to create an experience for your customers.
Don’t be afraid to challenge industry ‘norms’ in your business. The lesson from Cirque du Soleil is a powerful one because they experienced phenomenal growth as circuses continued to decline.

This guy has many valid points. Customer service (or as he was calling it “marketing” is the key to retaining customers. Many businesses seem to have forgotten this fact.

After viewing my first episode (#9) I couldn’t access the nifty green thing that would allow me to link to facebook, etc. The empty black screen remained in the way.

Andrew, once again you have provided a wealth of information as it relates to marketing. I love the customer service aspect as I agree with Ray it has been forgotten in so many businesses. I have to agree that Cirque has definitely set themselves apart, I love their shows and have seen many of them because of the “over the top” production and stages. Keep up the great work!

I want the name of the doctor he is going to. He must be getting some very good prescriptions. Life is too short to remain calm. Take a chance step over the edge and realize you can and will be sucsessful if you believe.

Hey Andrew,
Thanks for delivering such awesome content week after week!
I really like the CoverAction Pro resource, looks like a super quick and easy way to build 3D ebook and CD covers.
Can’t wait till next week

Andrew,
Absolutely LOVE the show. I always learn something immediately applicable to my biz.
But when I click the Share This it gets hidden behind the Viddler video.

Hey there Andrew great stuff as always. I love that though that marketing is in the way customer service is delivered. It’s marketing for future business! If everyone sees that then they will not only make the quick sale but have a high return rate of business. Thanks for the reminder on that.
Oh and thanks again for speaking with our group! It was awesome and really added value to what we do over here
Thanks!

Indeed how customer service has been forgotten. And it’s the really small things that matter too. For example, just the other day, I was trying to track down a special USB cable. This one Wal-known Mart (if you catch my drift) didn’t have it in store. The attendant said they only offer it on-line. I was bummed and said something like “Aww, man, that was a wasted drive.” Instead of sympathizing (I wasn’t angry, just bummed), she says, “Oh well.” Makes you want to head back there in a hurry, eh?

I found this video and thought it was intended to be a comedy. While it IS funny (the lemmings on the t-shirt, “this is what she dood,” and others), it is also a good insight into beginning to think creatively about marketing. I will certainly check out other of these videos. Thanks!

Andrew - you never fail to provide the most useful resources, and in 10 minutes at that.
I hope you’re well and enjoying the ebay conference.

I actually found the information very insightful. The theme of Marketing is Everything is unique. I certianly do feel that I can use several of the examples given in my own business - insurance. I will bookmark this site for a weekly review.

Cleaver presentation. Basic information that we should know but need to be reminded of in this creative video. I look forward to more.

This had some very informative information. I learned some things I didn’t know about marketing. I especially liked the idea of the plumber. The presenter was quite entertaining.

Andrew Lock brings common sense to marketing. Imagining everything you do as marketing makes one more aware of the impact even small actions can have.

Andrew sounds like you also read Blue Ocean Strategy.
