Episode #8
- Donald Trump’s ‘The Apprentice’ TV series in the UK (with Sr Alan Sugar) has a bunch of wally’s as contestants like you’ve never seen - you’ll never guess what they did. The viewer question is about how to get traffic to a new website. The nifty click resource for this episode is PicLens, an incredible plugin for most Internet Browsers. And finally, there’s a big marketing lesson from Amazon.com about their loyalty program, Amazon Prime.

Do you use Amazon Prime, or another online loyalty program? How do you like it? Do you get enough benefits from it? Let me know your opinion on the blog.

  5. Hi Andrew

    I’m Mason’s mate and we work together on the My Inbox Crap website. I met you briefly in LA at Yanik Silver’s seminar.

    I’d just like to thank you for looking at our site, and we’ll definitely look at implementing some of your suggestions.

    You mentioned that the site is ideal for Adsense. How many visitors do you think is required to make Adsense pay?

  6. Matthew,

    I’ve responded in more depth to your question at your private email address.

  7. Andrew - we all know that the show like The Apprentice are not about getting the most suitable person for the job, but about good TV. And come on - the American contestants are as incompetent, if not worse.

    Regarding the laundry task - yes, ONE of the teams just made up a silly price. The other team did actually call to check what other businesses were charging.

    Ecost = chargeback?

    Thanks for another great show!

  11. Dear Andrew,
    Your show is quite entertaining. I think The Apprentice is a valuable show here in the US and will be a great hit in your country aswell. I dont know what it is about a bunch of money hungry men and women being told what to do by the biggest money hungry man in the business, Donald Trump, that is so entertaining. But the general audience loves it!

  12. Hey Andrew,

    Great show and very entertaining. Video and especially “viral videos” are super powerful marketing tools. I run a couple of websites and I tested out a viral video which made the person watching it jump out of their seat.

    This video is forwarded from one person to another and it’s free! I have to say watching Donald Trump’s show is extremely painful, although there are tid bits of information one can gain from the show, I would rather be hanging out with the computer programmers of Google.

  13. In this day and age it’s hard to get the information you need on how to market yourself or product effectively. By joining social networks like myspace and facebook you can generate word of mouth advertising for yourself. And by selling your products on amazon.com you can trust that you are reaching a big customer base because of amazon’s effective amazonprime program that encourages customers to spend. These tidbits can help jumpstart anyone’s business. Thanks alot.

  14. Very good tips and ideas for marketing and driving hits to websites. I am interested and will watch future episodes to learn more! Thanks!
