  4. Thanks for this terrific production, Andrew. Though I couldn’t get to your site the first few times I tried it (Wow… you have SO many friends, trying all at once), I’m glad you suggested I try again.

Much success with this, my friend. I look forward to much more.

  5. Sorry to be a spoil sport, but your type of marketing is what is old. There was nothing new or even interesting. You also make the same basic mistakes that consultants who try to get business always do - you confuse marketing with advertising. Advertising is only a small part of marketing. No, I am not a consultant.

  6. Larry, thank you for your comment.

Marketing encompasses promotion, advertising, publicity, and more. Marketing should let potential buyers know that a product or service exists that can benefit them, and provide powerful reasons why they should spend their money on it.

So within the scope of that definition of marketing, the show will encompass various facets of the broad subject of marketing.

I happen to agree with you that there’s nothing ‘new’, but that doesn’t mean that everyone knows it all - I certainly don’t, I continue to learn. There’s plenty of marketing ideas, techniques and principles that ‘we’ don’t know about because we haven’t been exposed to them. So, they ARE new to those people who come across them for the first time.

I’m not entirely sure what you meant by your comment ‘your type of marketing is what is old.’ Sure, I shared some opinions, but the marketing lessons in the show were learned by observing large companies who I respect, they were not my own ideas.

I’m glad you were familiar with all the lessons I shared. At the same time, I’m sure you can appreciate that not everyone is like you. I’m sure you’ll be happy to know that others will benefit from watching.

  7. Andrew, Great stuff! I loved it. I’m always on the look out for the next release from Andrew Lock. I have enjoyed and learned from all of your resources, and this did not dissapoint. On a side note, I also appreciate your attitude and the fact that you did not take the bate from “LarryE” and his negative sour grapes comment. I think your attitude is one reason you are succesful at this! Keep up the good work and keep the marketing advice coming!

  8. Awesome job Andrew! Great content and production values. You’ve got a winner here and I can’t wait for the next episode.

  9. Hi Andrew,
Thank you for the great tips which I’ve shared with my readers. We can all learn from the greats like Walt Disney and Dan Kennedy.

And as you commented ‘we don’t know it all’… At times we need refreshers as there are things we may have heard but information overload takes over and it can be forgotten or misplaced.

  10. Andrew,

Thanks for the video and resource. I look forward to more.

  11. I’m excited to get started in my training and look forward to more video tips

    Hi Andrew,
I was at Ryan Lee’s conference last week and loved your presentation. I had a quick question for you. I just completed my first 99designs project, per your recommendation. it went really well. I am actually looking to get a short video created. I didn’t see a video creation category on 99designs, and wondered if you still had the contact information for the person who created yours?

Also, what was the process? Did you create a script, give it to a voice over talent, then send the voice over to a video designer to pair it up with a video?

Thanks for the help! I’ve watched almost all of your shows now and love them all.

    Curtis

  13. Hi Curtis,

The process was write the script first, then find the music, then have the voiceover recorded, then the animation created.

On 99Designs there isn’t a video creation category, but I used the ‘Other graphic design’ category.

    Regards

    Andrew

  14. Ramadan Berisha says:

    Dear sir,

We are a small cable television station that has recently started operations (we have been licensed on 28 of August 2008 for a 10 year period) in Kosovo – South East Europe.

The aim of our television station is to be a public benefit provider for education and information on economic, finance, business and related issues for the Albanian speaking public in Kosovo, Macedonia, Albania and Montenegro. Initially we are operating in Kosovo only.

Kosovo is the poorest country in Europe and has some 50% of unemployment and some 25% of population living in the edge of poverty.

We believe that our television station would at least help the young people in Kosovo to have access to information and education on how to start and grow a business, how to find a job, and other related educational issues.

With this letter we would like to request from you a consent to download, translate into Albanian and rebroadcast your video or TV content, and programs available for rebroadcasting and free if any.

Should you have such free video material please note that in that case we would download the same, and translate (sub titles) into Albanian language.

    Your help is highly appreciated.

    Sincerely yours,
    Ramadan Berisha,
    CEO Business Channel 1
