After 2 years of this weekly show, Episode #100 is here! I want to sincerely thank you for making the show so successful, and this week is certainly a cause for celebration.

If you’re a subscriber (via the form at the top right hand side of this page), you’ll be receiving a very special free gift from me this week, as well as my best ever offer, too.

Lots of topics in this episode. I talk about my Fedex fiasco that’s been going on over the last couple of weeks. I think I’ve got a story to top all other Fedex or UPS stories, see if you agree!

This week’s nifty click resource is one of my favorite discoveries in quite awhile, and I want to thank Matt Mickiewicz from 99Designs.com for alerting me to it. It’s SUCH a great concept, and highly addictive, as you’ll soon see.

I really enjoyed this week’s interview with Noah StJohn. Noah is a genuinely nice guy and I love his enthusiasm. Plus, he talks a lot of sense, which certainly helps! See if you agree with our take on “motivational speakers” who seem to be anything BUT motivational! More like miserable ;(

Since there’s a bunch of changes in this episode to mark the 100th episode onwards, I’d really like to hear your feedback, especially if you don’t normally comment! Come on, don’t be shy ;)

As usual, let me know your opinion about the topics covered in the show this week – leave your comment below, it’s really easy to do.

Enjoy the show!

  3. Hi Andrew…love the new look of the studio (tracking video…nes pa…or some such thing). Interviews…great idea…and thankyou so much for being the inspiration that you are…

keep on keeping on, and yes you are 100% correct…lack of action is the repose of those who say nothing works…Action…always action…

    Cheers

  4. Great episode Andrew.

Noah is a really interesting guy as well. I will go and check out his book.

I was hoping for a special 100th episode, super duper deal on your Microwave Marketing tool!! Oh well, maybe at the 200th episode.

The sounds quality also seems a little lower as well for some reason.

I liked the t-shirts – maybe if customers sent in a t-shirt you could wear it? Just a thought.

    Keep up the good work.

    Tony

  5. Hey man this video is really entertaining. Not to mention useful. But i have just mentioned useful. So im not really commenting on jackshit. LOL.

  6. Hi Andrew

As a customer and student of yours for ‘web tv’ show course, im wondering if thats a new custom made background or you got it with ultra 2 sets or where I can get this one just to see what other backgrounds they do`?

    Thanks

    Jason

  7. I like the new set Andrew. I’ll miss the t-shirts, but I understand that change is inevitable.

As for Russ’ problem, TryInfusionsoft.com is definitely the way to go. But…

The guy you interviewed the other night, Larry Loik, has a very cool product that could help Russ moving forward. His squeeze page technology can lay a squeeze page on top of Twitter, Linked in, Facebook, etc that captures the visitors information into whatever centralized database/autoresponder. It is pricey, but it seems like it could be a good backdoor solution for Russ. You might want to put your affiliate link on here so people can take a look at it.

I like the interview segment and I’m looking forward to seeing more of the “what not to do” segments of the show. Those are always a lot of fun.

    Anyway, I’m rambling…good show!

  8. Love the new look and the content was helpful, mind management stuff. I will be changing from afirmations to aformations.

  9. Andrew,

Congrats on the 100th episode… amazing how much killer content you’ve put out there.

I do have to say that I miss the T-shirts!

  10. Andrew,
Like the new format, moving forward is a critical part of business adaptation but not sure I like the new uniform. Its like you have lost a trademark.
Keep up the high standard and practical marketing advice.

  11. It was a nice show. It looks more serious but still is entertaining.
    Best of both worlds.
    Good job.

  12. Congratulations, Andrew on two years of your show, from a viewer who has been with you nearly that long!

The new set is okay, but I did notice that the video seems a bit fuzzier and the audio quality is lower too. Maybe just a few kinks in the new format.

The interviews are nice, but the downside I find, as a long-time viewer, is that it causes the episode to run much longer than they used to. That causes me to not want to stick around for the whole thing. Just 15 mins or so is easy to squeak into my busy schedule. More than that makes me antsy, even if the content is good (and it was in this episode).

Just some honest feedback. Will miss the T-shirts, but definitely understandable. Glad to hear you are adding some new segments and surprises too. Thanks for this show. I’ve recommended it many times to my own subscribers.

    Great job! :-)

  13. Hi Andrew,
thanks for sharing the information about the fiverr.com site. The site is quite interesting, however the ‘Sign in’, the ‘Join’ and the ‘order now’ links all are not working. How did you manage to use the site?

Yes, I like the new design of your show. (Did you run out of storage space for your t-shirt collection?) You always provide great and useful information.
    Keep it up.

    Walter

  14. Bruce Brodeen says:

Yeah! Rah-Rah, Andrew! (cue large, Oprah-like studio audience)

#100. A Huge milestone – I’ve been a proud digester of your talents for 3/4 of that time and welcome the changes on all fronts. Yeah, yeah, the T-shirts will be missed but I can imagine the strain to be pithy week in, week out yet two years, 100 shows is *just that* – an opportunity to change and evolve new context and challenges for its founder.

Way to chomp down and move along forward!

FedEx/UPS: been using them for almost 20 yrs, have had my share of issues/struggles but nothing like yours. It happens, you gotta roll with it, but the disturbing thing I continually find is them not making it right ,in a personal sense. NEVER recognizing the strain, the stress and the loss of valuable time this kind of insanity results in. WE, as small business owners, have to make things right in a personal way(ideally) when we screw up – and should. The systems of large companies never allow for this, nor concern themselves with the human dimension of their systemic failures. It’s not only bad business, it’s just wrong.

As for Russ’s problem, it’s a *huge* problem that is not really addressed and talked about much. Integration of all the various touch -points inside the marketing engines of small businesses. I, too, am splattered over various platforms and services that don’t really talk or work well together.

InfusionSoft is certainly a solid option(has some drawbacks for a non-IM company like mine, though) and other players seem to be coming on the CRM playing field. I will be making changes here in my own set up this coming year to get this under control. For now, I remain concerned and frustrated like Russ. Ugh.

I have read Noah’s book “The Secret Code Of Success” and can highly recommend it – he has a new take, angle on the self-help area. Refreshing, challenging and, most importantly, practical and an easy, quick read. The Gas/Brake analogy is *dead-on* and something for many to think about and time for me to revisit it – it’s a great transformative tweaks.

    Continued Success and Blessings, Andrew…..

Congrats on the 100th episode Andrew. That’s two years of great information that we can all benefit from. Thanks for all your tips and hard work to help struggling business owners.

Thanks and I look forward to the next 100 episodes.

    Cheers!

  16. Andrew -

    Congrats on #100.

Continue with the great content and advice and insights but I will have to say there is a bit of loss for video and audio quality from previous shows. It just does not appear as sharp. Message remains to be fantastic and will continue to watch them and use the tips.

    Thanks – Derek

  17. Congrats!

Just a note that your ConFusionsoft submission form is experiencing total ” Follow-Up Failure” and is not working.

  18. Great show Andrew and I REALLY like the new format and set design! Keep up the excellent work! Warmest regards, Steve http://www.drawn4u.com

    An update on FIVERR.com.

My Good Lord! It’s my new favorite site! Insane.

In 15 minutes, I have a banner design done, a new mock up on a logo in the works, a consult on ecommerce options for a new site from an expert on the subject, hired someone to shout a marketing message in the middle of a busy Chicago street with a megaphone and a consult from a Joomla expert on a new social site I came across and want some expert advice on.

    Cost: $25

    Whaatt?!

Freelancers: this is a GREAT lead-generation site. Sell low, get hot leads to work with in the future.

    INSANELY awesome!

  24. Jake Robinson says:

    Hey Andrew,
In sales, the “cal me after the holidays” or “call me after the first of the year” type putoffs – i do the folllowing:

    when i am calling them:

“Hey Andrew, because i know we both will be geting busy with the holidays, when can we get together for an ‘abreviated version’ of what I’d like to share with you? Would this week or next week be better”

‘Hey Andrew, we both have to eat and to avoid the rush of the holidays coming up, why don’t we meet for lunch sometime this week?”

“Hey Andrew, I know the holidays are coming up and things are getting busy, but why don’t we get together the week between Christmas and the New Year – this is usually slow for me – would this work for you?”

or if they do put you off – try and go for AS MANY ‘call me back after the first of the year’ – yes, go for as many as possible – if you have 100 people tell you this you will have a jam-packed kickoff for the new year…

“Andrew, no problem, I can call you back ater the first – do you want me to call you the first week or the 2nd week of Jan?”

“The Second”… ‘Great, how about I call you on Monday at 3pm on Jan 8th?”

lock in a time and date and then follow up..

  25. Congratulations on putting 100 episodes successfully “into the can”. Sincere best wishes for continuing successes.

  27. Congratulations on 100 great episodes!!
A do miss the old format though. And I’d be happy to send you a few more Tee shirts. There are definitely things I like about the new version though. I really think you actually have two shows here. The 10 minute original format, and then a 20-30 minute (premium content) version with interviews or deep dives into specific products.

  28. FedEx = YES!

    Brown Truck = no:(

  29. Hi Andrew,

I like the fact that you’ve lengthened the show and included a longer interview. I’m not as happy about the set design. I very much liked the old set. I thought it was exquisite and while it may not fit into your new studios, that old set was international in flavor and said a great deal about you and the depth of knowledge you impart weekly.

I like the overhead shots from time to time and I like the shirt change.

I have more to say, but will quit for now.

Overall, I very much like your show, no matter what you do in it. You’re still the heart of the show and that looks and sounds good regardless of the set or anything else. You still have integrity and honesty and insight and all those things count more than what’s behind you.

    Best,
    Ted

  30. Its a very good show overall, good information and not too hard or trashy humor, its very subtil humor and i like it that way.Great content and entertaining topics.Great host and Guests, very communicative peoples and entertaining way of speaking about business.congratulation on your 100th and hope u get to 200!!

    Hi Andrew,

Interesting but LONG – 20 minutes is tops to fit into a busy day.

Understand the t-shirt change but it made you unique and fun. I’m sure I’ll get over it though :o )

    I enjoy your shows.
    Best of luck!

  37. The FedEx story was hilarious but at the same time shockingly sad! Imagine all the wasted resources (on your part and fedEx’s) shipping those trunks across the country. what a mess. the worst part is they probably do this a dozen times a day. Big companies cant learn!

  38. Andrew,

It was an honor to have a question answered on your 100th episode. What a great accomplishment for you and the team.

@Curtis thanks for the validation of the tryinfosoft product I will check that out and the squeeze page recommendation. I will check into that solution as well.

@ Bruce if you ever come up with other solutions let me know, I would be interested in researching as well.

I loved the trunk Story. I think we have all had those challenges as well, the sad part is we all have had those challenges with all of the major carriers. So most of us are just irritated at them all. I think that this was a CRAZY example and had to be very frustrating.

The Fiverr is a great site. I have to laugh when I see what some people are willing to do for $5, only in the US …. hahaha. It is a great site though I will use for sure.

Like the new set and the new flow. I loved the T-shirts, but I understand the need to move away.

Thanks for what you do, keep it up.

  39. Hey guys,

One thing I use (and interviewed the founder of) is called Gist. It takes all of you contacts and puts them in one place. You can also rank people based on relevance and other goodies.

    Hope that helps.

  40. Hey Andrew,
Happy 100th episode. I guess this means that the marketing of show works and everything is marketing. I look forward to the next 100 shows, and one of I which you will have me as a guest speaker. Please give me a little time to prepare.
I think Noah is great. He and David Allen should get together and do a webinar. I just finished listening to Noah and Mary Ellen Tribby. She is another person you may want to consider for your show.
That’s it for now, see you next week.
    Cheers,
    Hal

  41. Hi Andrew first time poster here!!

I have a great case of FedEx

3 years ago I received 2 packages from FedEx, I was expecting just one but both had the same tracking number.

One of the packages had a wrapped gift for someone else with different sender and receiver addresses, so I didn’t opened it and called FedEx to let them know. They send someone to pick the package and a week later I received an apology letter from FedEx with a $100 check, I felt so lucky and yes I use and will use FedEx always !!

  42. Hi Andrew! The problem with FedEx and your packages really suck, but if you think about it, it’s not that bad, at least it had a happy end. I was wondering if FedEx did put you to pay and extra amount because you weren’t home that day?

I had a friend which was in almost the same situation (except that part with FedEx, we don’t have FedEx in Romania yet), one of his packages came to his house, but no one was there to pick them up. So they tooked the packaged and stored it at theyr deposit and called him to come and pick it up… He went after 2 days there and he had to pay an extra amount of money (i think ~5$) because he wasn’t home that day.

  43. My Fed-Ex moment and how I solved it in an unusual way

I booked some rail tickets with a company called the thetrainline.com, however after booking these tickets, the meeting I was attending was brought forward a day.

So I phone up thetrainline.com and explained the situation and they said no problem, go online and but tickets for the correct date and send the first lot back for a refind. Which I did.

This was followed up by two months of calling and emailing thetrainline.com to find out where my refund was and everytime I called they would deny they had received my tickets back. Fortunatly I was able to provide a tracking number and the person at thetrainline was then able to confirm receipt of the tickets. This happened approximatly a dozen times.

I got so fed up with the situation I tracked down the contact details of the CEO and wrote to him personally – He just kept directing me back to the call centre.

In a bit of a rage I started letting my feelings about the thetrainline.com be known on Twitter. From my first tweet to the refund going in to my bank account took less than 24 hours!

I managed to sort it in 140 characters on Twitter but not in over 5 hours of telephone calls and several emails and letters.

I wonder why they acted on it quickly when it was in a public forum???

  44. Congratulations Andrew on your 100th episode. I’ve been a fan for a few months now and have seen almost all of your episodes. I want to thank you for what you’ve done; your advices and tips are most valuable.

The new set looks so good and stylish and I think that your new wardrobe matches that style. The T-shirts were great and all but I must say this look fits you a lot better.

The FedEx story was oh so familiar. It happened to me twice in the last 3 years although the distances weren’t that great.

Can’t wait to see the next episodes.

  45. Congratz on 100th episode. The show reminds me of a book “Funky Business” by Jonas Riderstrale and Kjel Nordstorm. It has same approach and that “manifest of new age” concept.Like the show.Keep up the good work.

    All best

  46. Love your show Andrew. you had me at episode #36 (because I was on it). Thank you for what you do. I also love nifty clicks its a great investment. I personal have had success especially with mint.com and guru.com.

  48. Nice, thanks, very interesting.

  49. Andrew,

I always trust what you have to say. However, because I split my time between three business, I try not to get caught up in extra things (like your show) that take me away from implementation of my work. But your name came up yesterday in a conversation, so I went to your show this morning. I’m convinced spending this short amount of time weekly watching the great resources you provide in your show will make me much more productive…so I’m putting your show in my weekly schedule! As always, great work Andrew!

  50. CONGRATULATION! I am really happy with your show and hope that there will be more to come.

Like you I also train and speak all over the country and have the same problem with FedEx-chasing my stuff around.

  51. Ville Moilanen says:

    Andrew,

I enjoyed the show. Many have similar experiences with FedEx… well they ship so much stuff they´re bound to make mistakes.
And congratz on the 100th show!
First, but not last time, viewer.

  52. vincent chew says:

this show is giving the direct and accurate message to the viewer. but the introduction and the storyline, hope can cut it short and simple. most important, when the problems occur, i mean if the shipment was wrongly transport or the fedex people misunderstood our request, is there other way to solve it. i think this is more precise to solve the problem. keep on your hard work. we need more film like this.

  53. Wow Andrew you just keep on getting better have been with you from the first show and have learnt so much. Time to move on and just love that new set very classy. Got to say new ‘gap’ image goes very nicely with it too. Your show is the highlight of my week!!!

  54. elena Prikhodko says:

i had a funny story with FedEx too
i live in dubai now and had my fiance sending me some documents from USA and the whole purpose of choosing a currier company was that i needed those documents as soon as possible
so it is sent from USA all the way to Dubai UAE and i get a call from FedEx on wed saying that my package arrived and will be delivered and they get a location from me where to
next day i dont get anything and i call them up and see that my package was sent by mistake to AbuDhabi and will be back to dubai on Friday and Friday is a day off so is Saturday so i will get my package Sunday/Monday is the latest:)
of course i got not happy:) and spoke to some managers and they apologized and said that they cannot do much before sunday coz the delivery people are off ……
after a long discussion on the phone they agree to deliver it to my location on Friday and they did

2 month later my man sends me more documents and i get the same story:) this time there was no one to deliver it on Friday so i had to wait till sunday:(

  55. Russ’s problem: I have found no ‘tool’ or especially easy way to fix the issue of contacts in so many places – but I did find an excellent guide to fixing the issue. I followed this method myself and felt very good about the results. The Complete Guide to Creating a Consolidated Master Contact List: http://budurl.com/h3ep

  56. My brother tried to start a PC installation business. His first contract was with with The Dallas Independent School Dist. He had a ton of PCs shipped via UPS (or was it FedEx…no significant difference). They lost his shipment and by the time they found it DISD had gone with the next bidder. No apology. No compensation. His business was crushed before it had begun and to this day he remains an employee. I run businesses in Japan. Here, people don’t often make careless mistakes, they take customers seriously, and when a business screws up they take responsibility. Our American “work” ethic is derived from the British and when I do business in the States, I get nothing but arrogance and attitude.
